Account Security Basics

Strong Passwords

Rentigo requires passwords that:

  • Are at least 12 characters long
  • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers
  • Include special characters

Use a password manager to generate and store strong, unique passwords.

Email Verification

Your email must be verified to:

  • Recover your account
  • Receive important notifications
  • Enable two-factor authentication

Session Management

Control where you're logged in:

Go to Settings

Navigate to Settings → Security.

View Sessions

See all active sessions and their locations.

End Sessions

Log out from specific devices or end all sessions.

Session Details

Each session shows:

  • Device type
  • Browser
  • Location (approximate)
  • Last active time

If you see an unfamiliar session, end it immediately and change your password.

Data Protection

Encryption

  • In Transit - TLS 1.3 encryption for all connections
  • At Rest - AES-256 encryption for stored data
  • Backups - Encrypted backup storage

Data Retention

  • Active data kept while your account is active
  • Deleted data removed within 30 days
  • Backups retained for disaster recovery

Privacy

  • Data not sold to third parties
  • Minimal data collection
  • GDPR compliant

Reporting Security Issues

If you discover a security vulnerability:

  1. Do not exploit the vulnerability
  2. Email security@rentigo.com
  3. Provide details to help us investigate
  4. We'll respond within 48 hours
