Fee Handling

Configure who pays processing fees in Settings → Payments:

OptionEffect
Landlord AbsorbsFee deducted from your payout
Tenant PaysFee added to tenant's payment
Split 50/50Fee shared between both parties

3D Secure (3DS)

For card payments in EU and UK, 3D Secure verification is required:

  1. During Setup — Tenant verifies with their bank's app
  2. Recurring Charges — Usually proceed without re-verification
  3. Failed Verification — Payment is declined, tenant must retry

3DS reduces fraud and chargebacks. It's automatically enabled where required.

Managing Connections

Viewing Status

In Settings → Payments, you can see:

  • Connection status (active/not connected)
  • Connected account email
  • Last payout date and amount
  • Total volume processed

Switching Providers

You can have both Stripe and Tpay connected. When enabling recurring payments or sending payment links, choose which provider to use.

Consider using Tpay for Polish properties and Stripe for international ones.

Disconnecting

To disconnect a payment provider:

  1. Go to Settings → Payments
  2. Click Disconnect next to the provider
  3. Confirm the disconnection

Disconnecting stops all automatic payments through that provider immediately. Ensure tenants have alternative payment methods.

Troubleshooting

Connection Failed

  • Ensure you completed all verification steps
  • Check that your provider account is in good standing
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting
  • Contact the provider's support for account issues

Payments Not Appearing

  • Payment processing takes a few minutes
  • Check the provider dashboard for pending transactions
  • Verify the tenant's payment method is valid
  • Check for 3DS verification issues

Payout Delays

  • New accounts may have extended hold periods
  • Check provider dashboard for any alerts
  • Ensure all verification is complete
  • Contact provider support for payout-specific issues

Best Practices

  1. Connect Early — Set up before your first tenant needs to pay
  2. Complete Verification — Don't skip any steps
  3. Use Regional Providers — Tpay for Poland, Stripe elsewhere
  4. Monitor Both Dashboards — Check Rentigo and provider regularly
  5. Keep Records — Download periodic payment reports
